Concentrating Solar Power experts to meet in Barcelona

A recent EU report showed that the European Commission has funded €25 million for research into concentrating solar power in recent years, and the potential contribution of CSP “has still to be exploited”. Pietro Menna, Directorate General for Energy and Transport, European Commission will address the inaugural CSP Congress in Barcelona, 5-6 February 2006, providing an update on the Commission’s policies to promote the development of the CSP market.

“This is a must attend event for all players involved in the concentrated solar power Industry – says Green Power Director, Nadim Chaudhry, “ we have put together a high level agenda, developed after extensive research within the industry and all the key trends, from financing and policy developments to commercial project implementation, will be addressed. The congress is designed to provide participants with a solid base for making informed decisions on future business strategies.”

30 market leaders from Europe, USA, the Middle East and Africa will share their insights into developing CSP projects across the globe. Highlights include:

  • Policy updates from the European Commission, the California Energy Commission and the German Parliament
